A couple of interesting pieces regarding content marketing have been released.

  1. Brands are going to spend more on content marketing in future (+68%) - http://bit.ly/1a9vR8y

  2. Brands aren’t very good at producing content marketing – (http://bit.ly/1afDwAo)

Next step … research telling people how do to it effectively please!

The bombshell that one third of families communicate in the household via tablet or smartphone was revealed in new research from Microsoft Advertising (http://bit.ly/1622LSi), with 3 in 4 second-screening whilst watching TV. Microsoft also felt that portable devices would bring families closer as they don’t have to disappear to separate rooms to access PC’s - the body might be in the room, but the mind is elsewhere …

A report from Ofcom (http://bit.ly/1fLiVsE) shows that tablet usage amongst kids has tripled in the last year. Interesting that this has taken place during the period when Apple is losing market share and cheaper tablets are becoming more popular. I’m guessing parents are happier to a) buy and b) let kids use the cheaper kit that is now available. This trend has been picked up by Tesco and Argos – both of whom are bringing their own budget tablets to market.
